Missouri was named after a Sioux tribe of Indians called the Missouris, which means "wooden canoe people." You can take an elevator to the top of the arch and look out windows to see the city of St Louis. This Gateway Arch is 630 feet tall making it the tallest man-made national monument in the United States.
